Wireless/Ethernet Access

To access the University network through a public wireless or ethernet connection first open an internet browser application on your device and login to the page that you are automatically directed to with your UTEID. If you have forgotten your UTEID, please visit the UT EID Self-Service Tools page for assistance.

Who can use the resources, support, and equipment of Media Services?

We support all classes held in the Business Complex (CBA, GSB, UTC) during business hours (7:45am-6:15pm). All other services are limited to students that are enrolled in the McCombs School of Business. Students in other majors who are taking one business course still enjoy full support during their business classes, but otherwise have limited to no access to our services.

What kinds of computer systems and screen resolutions do you support?

All of our projectors have native resolution of 1024 X 768, setting your computer to this resolution will give you the best picture quality. We support any computer system that displays in 640 x 480 (VGA), 800 x 600 (SVGA); 1024 x 768 (XGA) and 1280 X 1024 (SXGA). All projection equipment adjusts itself to the resolution provided from the computer, no adjustment from the user should be necessary. If you do experience problems with the projector, try setting your screen resolution to 1024X768 and set your refresh rate to 60Hz.

How long can I keep equipment that I have checked out?

Normal checkout periods are 72 hrs. within one week.

Is there a charge for using checkout equipment?

We do not charge for equipment checked out to business students, however there is a late charge for equipment not returned in time.

Can I extend a checkout over the phone?

No, all equipment has to be physically returned at the agreed upon date and time. Most equipment has a 24 hour waiting period before it can be checked out again by the same person.

Can the checkout equipment be taken off campus?

All checkout equipment may be taken off campus. However for computer projectors and laptop computers you are required to pay a yearly (Sept. to Aug.) insurance fee.

Can I schedule an event "After Hours"?

By "after hours" we mean after 6:15pm on weekdays. If you need a staff member to videotape your department event, or a technician to run an audio/mixing board we can provide these services (and others) but the cost is higher outside of regular business hours.
