On this page you will find information on the Honors grade point averages (GPA) cutoffs for the McCombs School of Business for May 2012. The top 20% of each graduating class is recognized as graduating with University Honors. Honors designations are determined by GPA cutoffs established by the University as follows:

• The top 4% of a graduating class receives “Highest Honors.”
• The top 10% of a graduating class receives “High Honors.”
• The top 20% of a graduating class receives “Honors.”

Honors are calculated for the spring graduating class each May. The spring criteria are used for the subsequent summer and fall graduations. The Honors GPA cutoffs below, calculated for the May 2012 graduating class, will be used for announcement purposes only in the May 2013 ceremony. The actual May 2013 Honors GPA cutoff will be determined the week following the ceremony as part of the graduation certification process. 

This table illustrates why graduation with University Honors is so competitive. The minimum grade point averages needed to graduate with University Honors in the McCombs School of Business have remained very competitive and high beyond the actual minimum GPAs required to meet the category published in the University General Information catalog. This is due to the fact that more than 20% of these graduating classes earned a 3.5 or higher GPA. You should not assume that a minimum GPA of 3.5 will guarantee honors, 3.65 high honors, or 3.80 highest honors. Honors designations for each spring semester will be determined by the size of the graduating class and the number of students with 3.5 to 4.0 GPA.
