Welcome to the McCombs School of Business!

Newly admitted students should follow the steps below to prepare for their first semester at UT Austin:

Step One:  Register for Orientation

• Register for an orientation session online through the New Student Services website

Step Two:  Prepare for Orientation

• Complete the McCombs Technology Orientation before attending Orientation
• Create your official UT email address, and update your email address with the UT Directory. Email is the official form of communication for UT Austin and the McCombs School of Business. 
• Send test scores directly to UT Austin (Code 6882) including AP, IB, CLEP or SAT Subject Tests.
• Send an official college transcript to the UT Office of Admissions if you have any college or dual credit completed.

Step Three:  Attend Orientation

• Obtain your student ID card and upgrade your UTEID.
• Consider joining a First-Year Interest Group (FIG) - a group of 20 students who take 1-3 courses together and meet on a weekly basis.  
• Interested in double majoring? Review the application process for other colleges on campus.  
• Research health professions course requirements such as pre-medical and pre-dental.

Step Four:  After Orientation

• Continue adjusting your schedule through the registration system during your assigned registration times. See your Registration Information Sheet for access periods.
• Research major options with online resources such as the Center for Strategic Advising and Career Counseling and Wayfinder.
