UT Math Assessment
All McCombs freshmen are required to take the online ALEKS Assessment before attending new student orientation. The ALEKS Assessment is the first part of the UT Math Assessment, which is required of all students planning to take a math course at UT Austin (the second part will be administered during orientation). Appropriate scores on both parts of the Math Assessment serve as a prerequisite to taking a Math class at UT in the fall semester (e.g. M 408K or M 408C). You must have the specified placement scores before the fifth class day. ALEKS placement scores are determined by the College of Natural Sciences.
For students planning to take CH 301 at UT Austin, an appropriate score on the ALEKS Chemistry Assessment is required before taking the course. Please speak to your advisor if you plan to take CH 301.
