Prepare for Super Week

A large majority of investment banks will conduct interviews during Super Week.  All other BBA internship and full-time recruiting will begin during the first week of spring classes, starting January 17.  Even if you have previously participated in on-campus recruiting, please review this information so that you can best prepare yourself for spring 2012 recruiting and Super Week interviews.

• Review positions in OCR. 
• Conduct company research.  Research the companies, business divisions, positions, and locations for which you are interviewing.  For a listing of potential resources, see "Company Research" on MOR.
• Attend the Investment Banking Prep Panels and Workshops, held on November 1, 2, & 3.    
• Attend the Investment Banking Prep Course on November 12 or 13.  Note that students must have applied by the deadline in order to be eligible for participation. For event details, please see the "Events" section on the BBA Career Services website.
• Attend company presentations.  Check OCR for a list of Brief & Meets (i.e. information sessions). 
• Practice, practice, and more practice.  Remember to practice for your interviews.  Students interested in conducting a mock interview, please email your BBA Career Advisor.

• Participate in the UBC CFT to New York City.  For information and to apply, contact the Undergraduate Business Council.

• December 2:  Last Class Day, Fall Term 
• December 9:  Interview (Pre-Select) Sign-Ups Begin
• December 15:  Interview (Alternate) Sign-Ups Begin
• December 23:  UT-Austin Offices Close for Winter Break 
• January 3:  UT-Austin Offices Reopen
• January 5:  Interview Sign-Ups Start to Close
• January 9–11:  BBA Super Week
• January 17:  First Class Day, Spring Term
  

Important Interview Requirements

If you apply for any positions that have on-campus interviews during Super Week, note that you must physically be in Austin on the designated interview date(s) and be able to interview on campus.  If you are unable to physically be at the interview on the interview date(s) for any reason (i.e. vacation, LeaderShape, out of the country, etc.), then you are not eligible for that position.  No exceptions will be made or alternate arrangements allowed.

Pay close attention to the job description in OCR as second round interview dates, locations, and other pertinent information for each position will be included, when available.  Some companies may host second round interviews on January 9, 10, or 11 in the Ford Career Center Interview Suites.  Other companies may conduct second round interviews starting on January 12 (either on-campus or off-campus).  For any second round interviews, you must physically be at the company's designated location (i.e. FCC Interview Suites, company office in Houston,  NYC, Austin, etc.) on the designated interview date(s).

Be mindful of back-to-back interviews and plan in advance regarding your overall interview schedule.  Advance planning and strategy will help ensure that you are well prepared for your interviews.

Application and Interview Deadlines

Due to the unique timing of Super Week, many important deadlines will occur during finals, Winter Break and even close to the holidays.  Plan ahead and apply early to ensure that your resume will be given full consideration.  Although this is a general guide to deadlines, it is imperative that you add the application and interview dates to your calendar.  Pay attention to each job posting and keep track of important information regarding each position.  You do not want to miss these important deadlines! 

First and Second Round Interviews

First round on-campus interviews will be held Monday, January 9 through Wednesday, January 11.  Please expect second round interviews to be held either on-campus January 9 through January 12 or off-campus January 12 through January 16 with a short notification period.  Please note that some companies may not plan to host any interviews beyond the first round of interviews.  Check each job description in OCR for the second round interview date, location, and other pertinent information.  Information will be posted, when available, in the job description under "Interview Date(s)."

Interview Sign-Ups and Application Status

For most positions, the resume submission end date will occur on November 30.  Be sure to check each job posting in OCR as exact deadlines will vary by position.  Please be aware that interview sign-ups will take place during finals and Winter Break.  Therefore, it is important that you regularly check your email and remember to be aware of your application status in OCR.  Remember that failure to attend a scheduled interview will result in your being blocked from OCR.
