Diversity Dialogue Dinner (D3)
The Diversity Dialogue Dinner (held each fall) includes dinner with BBA students followed by a networking session. The event provides companies the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of BBA students. They'll share opinions and engage in lively, thought-provoking discussion on current diversity issues in the corporate world. During dinner, one or two keynote speakers will discuss diversity in corporate America, and the ways students can prepare themselves for the changing workplace. All companies will receive the resumes of the students sitting at their table. Diversity Dialogue Dinner Platinum and Gold Sponsors will receive the resumes of all students who attended the dinner. The fall 2014 Diversity Dialogue Dinner will be held on September 10, 2014; registration information coming soon!

My name is Isabella Pereira and I am the 2013-2014 MDC president. I am junior marketing major with big city dreams and an even bigger appetite. My favorite pastimes include eating, reading, watching movies, and goofing off with the MDC family! We are kicking off this year with a lot of changes to our organization which will surely make this one of our most exciting years yet, so stop by our meetings every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. to see what's new!
Andrew Curtis is a Senior Supply Chain Management major who is thrilled to contribute to MDC. Andrew wants to work in the Imports industry and loves running, traveling, and cooking. He has lived in Italy and speaks fluent Italian.
My name is Ethan Markert, a junior finance major here at UT. This year I am serving as the Executive Vice President of McCombs Diversity Council, and I am excited to plan our fall and spring company field trips. This will be my third year as a member of MDC, and I can honestly say I have made life long friends in this organization. I look forward a great year serving MDC and hope to get to know all the members in the council.
Vishal Duvvuru is a sophomore studying Marketing and International Relations and Global Studies. He is a member of the McCombs Diversity Council and the UT Men’s Club Volleyball team. He loves meeting new people, listening to music, watching
movies, and travelling.
I am a Senior MIS major and Accounting Minor from Houston, Texas. I have the honor of serving as the McCombs Diversity Council’s Internal Vice President. I love basketball, soccer, music, film, and food. I look forward to meeting all of you at our upcoming events this year! Feel free to talk to me if you have any questions about UT, McCombs, Austin, or life in general.
I am currently a junior finance major from Houston. I love to play basketball (my favorite team is the Houston Rockets), soccer, and read the news. I have been a part of MDC since the Fall of 2012 and would love the opportunity to go into investment banking. An interesting fact about me is that I had the chance to coach with one of the real twins, Heidi Burge, from the Disney movie “Double Teamed.”
Professionalism is crucial in your career search, and it's just as crucial at the McCombs Diversity Council dinners. The McCombs Diversity Council dinners are formal events, but the atmosphere is relaxed and your goal should be to create relationships with recruiters. Your should focus on gathering information, developing a connections with the recruiters, and above all, obtaining the recruiter’s contact information for future follow-up. You may bring your resume to the dinner, but please do not hand out your resume unless the recruiter specifically asks for it. More tips on networking, etiquette, and professionalism are included in the PowerPoint presentation below. Please review the presentation and feel free to contact BBA Career Services if you need additional clarification.
Please note that the deadline to cancel your RSVP for the dinner is one week prior to the event. If you do not cancel before this deadline and/or fail to show up for the event, you will be blocked and lose your OCR recruiting privileges. If an emergency situation occurs, please contact the event coordinators immediately to cancel your RSVP. Thank you.
McCombs Diversity Council strives to host events compliant with the state and university risk management policies. For more information about risk management, please view the Risk Management presentation
