VIP Distinguished Speaker Series
The VIP Speaker Series is the official McCombs School of Business Lecturer Series. Executives from all fields in business, ranging from technology and finance to accounting and consulting, and beyond, are invited to speak about their experiences, struggles, and successes at the McCombs School of Business. The Speaker Series is held at dates announced throughout the academic year. This program has brought many esteemed executives, as well as authors who have written best sellers on recent topics of business to McCombs. Not only is this program one of Undergraduate Business Council’s most prestigious, but it is known university-wide. Students, professors, and staff number in the hundreds and thousands to come hear the stories of executives from around the world.
The VIP Speaker Series has implemented a new format of Q&A. Students are asked to submit questions they would like to ask the executives before the event. An interviewer, usually a McCombs Business Member interviews the speaker based on the questions that were received and accepted. Afterwards, the audience is free to ask any more questions. Some executives also have a “meet and greet” with some students after the event.
Benefits of attending VIP speaker series include:
- Valuable in-depth stories from some of the most successful individuals in the world
- Interaction with company personnel before and after the event
- Motivation to succeed and represent McCombs after graduation
