Family Weekend
Family Weekend is an event that aims to show parents why sending their children to one of the nation’s best business schools is the right decision. It is one of the Undergraduate Business Council’s largest events, and is scheduled in coordination with the university-wide Family Weekend. The day is highlighted by a keynote speaker, including Dean Thomas Gilligan, and informative panels on internships, academics, study abroad, and student organizations.
Through Family Weekend, parents learn about the various opportunities McCombs offers, including different study abroad options, scholarships, the Business Honors Program, internship opportunities, and much more. They are able to ask questions, as well as speak with professors and current students in order to gain insight into the various programs and experiences students have in McCombs.
"The committee and I are really looking forward to Family Weekend this year. Last year we had about 400 parents, and some exceptional panels. This year we have a great line-up of professors and students panelists, and hope to have an even greater turnout than before. This event is one of my favorite that UBC hosts because it shows off all of McCombs' great qualities, and truly is the best way for parents to learn about all the amazing opportunities that are here."
