Out-of-State Tuition Waiver

Out-of-State Tuition Waivers for Non-Resident Students

Out-of-state tuition waivers are sometimes called Non-Resident Tuition Exemptions (the official term) but both refer to the same thing. The McCombs School of Business does not have out-of-state tuition waivers for undergraduate students. Students who are considering applying or enrolling in the McCombs School BBA program should be prepared to pay the out of state tuition as listed in the General Information Catalog exclusive of any scholarships or financial aid which may be awarded.

The Office of Student Financial Services at the University does award a limited number of non-resident tuition exemptions to the incoming freshmen. Offers are given as four-year awards and the waivers are accompanied by a $1,000 academic scholarship and are renewable based on academic merit, completion of a scholarship application and financial need. The initial award is based on merit and need as the top two largest components of eligibility. Freshmen must complete the scholarship module of the Applytexas application in order to be considered.

Scholarships

Besides the University’s non-resident tuition exemption process, non-resident students may also apply for scholarships in the McCombs School as well as at the University. Non-residents studying business qualify for McCombs scholarships after their freshman year by completing an application in mid-spring semester. For information regarding other sources of financial help for business majors please see the Financing Your Degree information.

University scholarship resources for non-resident freshmen can be found on the Financial Services scholarship information page.

Residency

The requirements for establishing Texas residency can be complicated and are administered by the University and not the McCombs School. Please visit the following links for more information.
