The Business Honors Program (BHP) at the McCombs School of
Business is an innovative degree program designed to provide
intellectual challenge and professional development for students with
exceptional academic abilities and leadership skills. It is a program with a number of key distinctions:
- 500 students (120 per class)
- Disproportionately high representation in McCombs and University leadership positions
- Close-knit community built around professional and academic programming
- Small classes focused on
presentations, group collaboration, analytical exercises and the
research behind actual business decisions.
- Cased-based study modeled on MBA courses
- Taught by the McCombs
School’s most highly regarded professors.
The BHP curriculum and
corresponding programming is designed to develop students at every stage
of their college careers: incoming freshmen begin with Freshmen
Leadership Kickoff, their official introduction to BHP where they are
assigned to a peer mentor group. The mentorship program, along with a
course to help them plan, implement and evaluate their post-graduation
goals, rounds out their first-year experience. The BHP experience
continues through hands-on learning; the Sophomore Case Competition
hones students’ analytical and presentation skills. Juniors and seniors
cultivate their more advanced technical skills through the Finance Boot
Camp and reconnect with their classmates through various Make A Mark
social events.
No competitive program offers such a well-rounded academic experience nor offers such extensive
extra-curricular activities. We strive to continue the momentum of this
exceptional program and we rely on our corporate partners for their
support in this effort.
