  • Give to Honors

As Amy Bell (BBA ’02, PPA ‘03) reflects on her time in the Business Honors Program (BHP), three things truly stand out: the professors, the people, and the resources. Bell, a pioneer in the Social Finance Group at JP Morgan in New York, feels that BHP played a huge role in her professional development. From the mentorship and development opportunities offered by the BHP faculty and staff to the drive and passion shared by the members of the BHP community, the experiences in this program were, as Bell says, “instrumental to what [she has] been able to do today.”

During her undergraduate years, Bell remained active in the Honors Business Association, worked in the MBA office on the International Relations team, and maintained active involvement in volunteer and community work. After graduation, Bell entered the corporate landscape as a fraud investigator at Deloitte. She then moved on to become an investment banker at JP Morgan, where she is currently works with the new social finance group to realize opportunities for social impact investing.

Bell’s passion for serving the community and promoting social return is where she truly draws her inspiration for giving back to those who have helped along the way. Bell cites four attributes of BHP that provide ultimate inspiration for giving back. The impact that this program has, from academics to professional development to unique skill sets, provides students with all of the tools for success. Practical knowledge gained in BHP prepares students to be “better equipped to function on day one at work.” Quality education at an affordable institution allows access to amazing resources without breaking the bank. Finally, the BHP community makes the vast UT network feel small, providing rich opportunities for personal growth and development.

Bell revels in any opportunity to remain connected to the BHP community. Beyond monetary contributions, Bell helps with admissions interviews, engages in happy hours and alumni events in New York, and participates in events such as the BHP 50th anniversary.
