Why Give to BHP?

The Business Honors Program arguably provides the single best undergraduate business experience in the country. To maintain this reputation and to continue to build upon our success, we need financial support. We need your help.

THE ECONOMY - IT'S TOUGH OUT THERE

It's no secret that these are tough times for higher education. UT and its programs face a decline in the state funding that is already only 14% of the University's budget. As that number shrinks, it is imperative that we turn to our alumni and friends of the Program to keep a BHP education within the reach of every student who earns one.

DISPELLING THE MYTH: IS UT RICH?

Many people think that UT and the McCombs School are rich because we receive revenue from the state-owned Permanent University Fund (PUF). PUF receives revenue from oil and mineral interests in West Texas, but that money supports 18 institutions and six agencies in the Texas A&M and University of Texas Systems.

Download “A Closer Look at UT’s Financial Picture” (PDF) for information about the PUF and other revenue sources.

IT'S FOR THE STUDENTS

We are very excited that we've been able to award thirteen BHP students scholarship packages for 2011-2012. But that's only a beginning. Too many students who want to be here are going elsewhere for financial reasons. You can help us change that.

THE VALUE OF YOUR DEGREE

Every dollar you give to BHP is a dollar spent on maintaining the value of your own degree. As BHP and UT continue to gain prominence, our alumni benefit from the growth of our reputation.
