Welcome to the Best of Both Worlds

Being in the Canfield Business Honors Program gives you the experience of a small, social community with the resources of a large, public university.

  • Thrive in Your First Year

When you walk through the doors, you’re already part of the family here. We’ll support you through your first year with weekly seminars, peer mentors, and an introductory course, so you can make the most of your time at McCombs.

  • Join in on the Fun

Whatever your interests, you’ll find a Longhorn to share them with. You can join one of more than 1,000 student organizations on campus, with 40 just at McCombs. And every freshman in the program will have a peer mentor to help guide them through their first year. We offer a truly well-rounded and fun college experience with top sports and great school spirit.
Student Perspectives
I can confidently say the instruction and advising have enriched my time in McCombs, but the Canfield BHP community and lifelong friendships have made my time in the program unforgettable.

Don’t Be Shy. Meet Your Alumni.

We have more than 2,500 alumni across the globe. They stay involved and often want to share advice with Canfield BHP students. Meet up with them and build your network.

Mentorships

The Canfield BHP Alumni Mentor Network is a program that connects alumni to Canfield BHP sophomores and juniors. It is an opportunity for current students to be mentored by alumni based on similar academic and/or professional interests. Canfield BHP alumni come from a variety of professional fields and many go on to top medical schools, law schools, MBA programs, and other graduate programs. Alumni mentors may provide advice to students on major and career exploration, career and/or graduate school preparation, professional development and balancing school, career and outside interests.

Intern Socials

Each summer Canfield BHP holds events to connect students interning in cities throughout Texas and in New York City with alumni living there. These events are a way for students to make connections with alumni in the area.

Chats and Dinners

We host a number of casual events such as coffee chats and dinners for alumni and students to connect throughout the year. These events are limited to a small number of students so that the students and alumni can get to know one another.

Spotlights

We spotlight one Canfield BHP alum every month on the Canfield BHP blog. These blog posts are a great opportunity for students to learn more about various career paths, lessons learned and to gain advice.
