Basic Information
Note: The application for fall 2013 is now closed. The next admissions cycle will begin in September, 2013.
All applicants are expected to review the official graduate admissions instructions at the University of Texas Graduate School website, and must apply online at ApplyTexas. To check on your application status, visit the Application Status Check, and log in with your UT EID and password. You'll also use this page to upload your resume and other documents.
All applicants are required to take the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). The test must be taken within the past five years. International students must also submit an official report of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS), with scores no older than two years. If you obtained your bachelor's degree in the U.S. or other English-speaking country, you may submit your expired TOEFL or IELTS score for review.
Qualified applicants may be contacted to schedule an interview once an online application and resume have been received and reviewed.

- Online application
Visit
ApplyTexas to begin your application. NOTE: Our program is listed as IROM Option III (MS in Business Analytics) in the drop-down list of majors.
- Personal statement (Recommended 200 word maximum)
How have your personal, academic, and professional experiences led you to pursue the Business Analytics degree at this time? Please discuss both your short- and long-term career goals, including your vision of your post-graduation employment, and how a Master of Science in Business Analytics helps you achieve that goal.
- Three letters of recommendation
Please provide the names and contact information of the recommenders under the Employment, References and Honors Information section of the online application. The recommenders will be contacted within a week via email by GIAC with instructions on how to submit the recommendation letters. If they do not receive the instruction email or have problems submitting the letter, please have them submit the letters to
msbusinessanalytics@mccombs.utexas.edu. Preference for letters is two academic and one professional.
- Official transcripts
After you have completed the ApplyTexas application and paid the application fee, you will receive an email with a link to an upload site. Please use this link to upload copies of your transcripts as PDF documents. Materials from each school attended should be in one PDF. Complete instructions can be found

- Official GRE or GMAT scores
Please request that your official GRE or GMAT scores be sent to GIAC. The Education Testing Service (ETS) GRE and TOEFL code for the University of Texas at Austin is 6882; a departmental code is not needed. The GMAT code is 396-44-73.
- Official TOEFL or IELTS scores (International students only)
All international students
must submit official TOEFL or IELTS scores, regardless of where you earned your bachelor's degree. If you did not receive your bachelor's degree in the U.S. or other English-speaking country, your score must not be over two years old.
If you obtained your bachelor's degree in the U.S. or other English-speaking country, you may submit your expired TOEFL or IELTS score for review. Submit the following information to

a. Scanned copy of your TOEFL or IELTS scores (overall and individual sections)
b. The university attended (name and location)
c. Degree earned and graduation date
d. Total length of time spent in the U.S.
- Application Fee (Applications submitted without the required application processing fee will not be reviewed)
Please do not send cash or personal checks. You may pay by credit card (Visa or MasterCard), cashier's check, money order, or bank draft in U.S. dollars drawn in U.S. banks.
