BBA Career Week Events
Career Week (held each fall and spring), hosted by BBA Career Services, provides employers with opportunities to connect with Texas BBA students through a variety of career-related events and workshops. It is designed to maximize employer time with students by condensing events into a shorter time frame. Event registration for fall 2012 Career Week will open in May. Undergraduate Career Expo
The Undergraduate Career Expo (held each fall and spring) provides opportunities for employers to recruit full-time and internship candidates at the McCombs School of Business. This is a great opportunity to recruit BBA, 3rd year MPA, or 4th year MPA students. The fall 2012 Undergraduate Career Expo will be held on September 12 (12:00 - 5:00 p.m.). McCombs Global Job Fair
The McCombs Global Job Fair (held once per academic year) connects international employers and BBA and MPA students. Through the McCombs Global Job Fair, BBA and MPA Career Services hope to aid employers by creating opportunities in which they can speak informally with students wishing to work abroad, learn about their organizations, or gain information on internships and full-time positions. BBA Women’s Council (BBAWC) Roundtable Breakfast Forums
The BBAWC Roundtable Breakfast Forums (held each fall and spring) begin with breakout discussions on issues such as developing leadership competencies, bridging the gender communication gap, and achieving work/life balance and concludes with a networking session. Employer sponsors are encouraged to send up to two female participants (one-two years of work experience and beyond) who can represent the company and share information on the experiences of females in the business world.

McCombs Diversity Council (MDC) Dinners
Diversity Dialogue Dinner
The Diversity Dialogue Dinner (held each fall) includes dinner with BBA students followed by a networking session. The event provides companies the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of BBA students while sharing opinions and engaging in lively, thought-provoking discussion on current diversity issues in the corporate world. During dinner, one or two keynote speakers will discuss diversity in corporate America and ways in which students can prepare themselves for the changing workplace. All companies will receive the resumes of the students sitting at their table. In addition, Diversity Dialogue Dinner (D3) Platinum and Gold Sponsors will receive the resumes of all students who attended the dinner.

The event provides companies the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of BBA students while sharing opinions and engaging in lively, thought-provoking discussion. The Interactive Diversity Forum (IDF) is a great opportunity to develop relationships with students of varying classifications and majors. All companies will receive the resumes of the students sitting at their table. In addition, the Interactive Diversity Forum Platinum and Gold Sponsors will receive the resumes of all students who attended the dinner.

Corporate Mock Interviews
The Corporate Mock Interview Marathon (held each fall and spring) is a great way to build your company’s reputation and presence on campus. Held the day after the Undergraduate Career Expo, representatives from your company interview students for mock positions and give the BBA students valuable feedback, helping our students refine their interviewing skills.
At the mock interviews, you can help BBA students refine their interviewing skills and give them valuable advice as they begin their job search. This also gives your company exposure to students of varying academic classifications and majors. The fall 2012 Corporate Mock Interviews will be held on September 13 (9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.). Employer Panels
Through participation in the Employer Panels, company representatives connect with BBA students in an informal setting while sharing personal experiences and valuable insight into specific industries, careers, and career-focused topics. The fall 2012 Employer Panels will be held on

Etiquette Dinners
The Networking Reception & Etiquette Dinners (held each fall and spring) provide networking practice for approximately 70 BBA students with a networking session in addition to learning the do’s and don’ts of business dining etiquette. Employers are seated with students to share stories and give advice on business networking. Sponsors will have the opportunity to give a brief introduction to the entire group regarding their company and opportunities for BBA students. Sponsors are encouraged to send up to three representatives.

BBA Women’s Council
Through seminars, breakfast forums, WomenInsights, and the WomenTalk series, the BBA Women’s Council (BBAWC) provides a forum for undergraduate business women to learn about and discuss current issues and opportunities in business. BBAWC participants will be able to gain knowledge of relevant topics, including challenges women face in the workforce, how to prepare for success after graduation, and how to network with prominent women in business.

McCombs Diversity Council
The McCombs Diversity Council (MDC) is designed to educate students about diversity and diversity-related issues in the workplace. MDC strives to create an atmosphere in which students are comfortable conducting open dialogue on various diversity topics. MDC also seeks to show students that diversity provides a competitive advantage in the increasingly global market. By building strong relationships with companies that recognize and value diversity, our students are empowered to become leaders in the business world.

Target Your Future
Target Your Future (TYF) is a small group seminar series over eight weeks for first generation college students and minority business students that provides an in-depth education on career-related topics. Sponsors can get involved by serving as a panelist or guest speaker at a TYF seminar, mentoring students, participating in TYF mock networking events and etiquette dinner, hosting company field trips, or providing internships to TYF program participants. Investment Banking Prep Week
Investment Banking Prep Week (held in November) is designed to prepare BBA students to learn the skills they need to obtain an internship or full-time position within the financial services industry. The BBA Career Services weekly newsletter is an electronic newsletter sent to all BBA students each Monday during the fall and spring semesters. To announce your upcoming events, special programs, and activities in the newsletter, please send your announcements to Trisha Maberly at least one week in advance. At the MPA Career Fair, you will have the opportunity to talk with traditional MPA students about internship and full-time positions and with fifth-year students about full-time opportunities within your organization. The MPA Career Fair is held in late August, and as a participant, you will also be able to register for a networking reception held the day before. Registration for the two events opens in May. Meet the Firms in the End Zone
Public accounting firms of all varieties are invited to kickoff the Spring 2012 recruiting season by connecting with MPA students in the state-of-the-art facilities at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on January 27. As a Meet the Firms participant, you will have the opportunity to network with students in a career fair setting, and host smaller information sessions on firm and practice specifics in the well-appointed stadium suites. Mock Interviews
Enhance your company presence on campus while helping MPA students fine-tune their interviewing skills by participating in the Mock Interview Marathon, one of our most popular events. Held once each fall and spring semester, the Marathon is an event in which sponsors interview students for mock positions and provide valuable feedback. Industry Internship Program
The Industry Internship Program is a great way to build your campus visibility. As a participating organization, you will be able to post positions through the McCombs Online Recruiting system, hold campus interviews during a designated period in October, and attend a specific night dedicated to industry organizations as part of the Accounting Career Exploration course. At the event you will have the opportunity to inform MPA students about exciting career options within your organization via mini-information sessions. For more information, contact Vinh Nguyen.
Etiquette Dinners
MPA career consultants lead the MPA Etiquette Dinner to teach students the dos and don’ts of proper business dining etiquette. Representatives of sponsoring organizations interact with MPA students throughout the meal and educate them about available career opportunities. The Spring 2012 event will be held on February 29. MBA Career Connections will be held Thursday, September 20 through Friday, September 21, 2012.
- This is a great way for companies to visit with a large number of Texas MBA students regarding internship and full-time opportunities.
- This event includes a traditional career fair with booths on Friday, September 21, preceded by a networking reception on Thursday evening.
DFW and Houston MBA Career Connections
- Formally referred to as "Meet and Greets," join us at our annual fall recruiting events, designed for employers with MBA opportunities and MBA+ projects in Dallas/Ft. Worth and/or Houston, to meet with students locally who are in those respective cities.
- Structured as a no-cost, relaxed evening cocktail reception, the Career Connections events provide high-value discussion opportunities with students from all McCombs MBA programs. Dates for the Career Connections events are: Houston - Thursday, September 6, 2012 and Dallas/Ft. Worth - Thursday, September 13, 2012.

Spring Career Fair
Our annual spring recruiting event, MBA Careers Now Interview Forum, will be held on April 13, 2012. This event allows employers to meet and interview students for both internships and full-time career opportunities in a just-in-time environment.
The format includes:
- Meet students in the morning to discuss qualifications and interest.
- During lunch, determine which students to invite back for screening interviews.
- In the afternoon, conduct individual screening interviews in the McCombs Interview Suites.
Student Treks
Each year, we take 1st Year students on industry-specific recruiting trips to cities outside of Austin. Hosting a student group for an on-site visit during these Treks gives organizations the opportunity to showcase their corporate environment and gain exposure to our MBA candidates. - Texas MBA Football Tailgates are current student and alumni networking events prior to each home game designed to promote school pride and a sense of inclusion within the larger University community.

MBA+ Program and Enhance Projects
MBA+ Program – Connecting MBAs and Opportunities
MBA+ is an experiential leadership program that connects MBAs to companies of interest, heightens communication skills, and provides hands-on training. By sponsoring a specific event, activity or project, MBA+ offers recruiting companies a chance to gain a significant amount of goodwill and credibility with students.
Communication and Executive Coaches
MBA+ provides communication and executive coaches who work with our MBAs individually and in groups to sharpen and refine their influence, insight, and impact. Companies that recruit MBAs are able to sponsor and support elements of this highly regarded and much used service.
Seminars, Workshops and Special Events
To augment the MBA students’ rich classroom experience, MBA+ brings in industry experts to train students in financial modeling, valuation, and Six Sigma quality among other professional training opportunities. Companies that recruit have the opportunity to sponsor these popular seminars.
MBA+ and ENHANCE Projects
Throughout the year, teams of four to five MBA students conduct micro-consulting projects with client companies. Students select the client company, which then chooses the project. At the end of the project period, the student team travels to report its project findings and recommendations to the client, using funding provided by MBA+.
