Undergraduate Career Expo

The Undergraduate Career Expo (held each fall and spring) provides opportunities for employers to recruit McCombs School of Business students. The expos are open to all current McCombs School of Business students in the BBA, MPA, MSF, MBA, and MSTC programs. In particular, this is a great opportunity for employers to recruit BBA, MPA, and MSF students. The spring 2013 Undergraduate Career Expo will be held on January 30 (12:00 - 5:00 p.m.).

The Career Expos are hosted by the Undergraduate Career Committee and BBA Career Services. Registration is now closed.  For questions or more information, contact Rachel Rucker in BBA Career Services.

McCombs Global Career Fair

The McCombs Global Career Fair (held once per academic year) targets top-class Texas BBA, MPA, and MSF students for global internships and full-time opportunities such as:

  • Opportunity for domestic students to work outside of the U.S.;
  • Opportunity for international students to work within the U.S.; or
  • Opportunity for domestic or international students to work within the U.S. on international projects.

Through the McCombs Global Career Fair, BBA and MPA Career Services hope to aid employers by creating opportunities in which they can speak informally with BBA, MPA, and MSF students wishing to learn about their organizations or gain information on internships and full-time positions. For questions or more information, contact Mandy Kious in BBA Career Services or Vinh Nguyen in MPA Career Services.

Etiquette Dinner

The Etiquette Dinner provides networking practice for the incoming class of MSF students with a networking session in addition to learning the do’s and don'ts of business dining etiquette. Employers are seated with students to share stories and give advice on business networking. Sponsors will have the opportunity to give a brief introduction to the entire group regarding their company and opportunities for MSF students. Sponsors are encouraged to send up to three representatives.

The 2013 Etiquette Dinner will be held July 25 (6:00 - 8:30 p.m.). Employers interested in sponsoring the Etiquette Dinner, please contact Renée de Lota.

Mock Interviews

Enhance your company presence on campus while helping MSF students fine-tune their interviewing skills by participating in mock interviews. Employer participants interview students for mock positions and provide valuable feedback on behavioral and technical questions. The 2013 event will be held at the end of Career Week on September 13th (8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) in the Ford Career Center Interview Suites (GSB 4.114). For more information about conducting mock interviews with MSF students, contact Renee de Lota.

Panels

"Finance Career Exploration" Panel

Company representatives are able to interact with the incoming MSF class during orientation, allowing for company insight, and career-path advice. The 2013 panel will take place on July 25 at 2 p.m. Companies are encouraged to send representatives from their firms to talk candidly about their experiences and share personal experiences. Representatives are invited to participate in the etiquette dinner following the panels on July 25th. If you are interested in participating in this panel, contact Renée de Lota.

"Recruiter Tips" Panel

Help MSF students prepare for the recruiting season by describing what characteristics and actions can set them apart from their peers. Panelists will share information on the DOs and DON'Ts of recruiting, including examples of past best and worst experiences. The 2013 panel will take place on July 25 at 3:30 p.m. Representatives are invited to participate in the etiquette dinner following the panels on July 25th to allow for further discussion with the students. If you are interested in participating in this panel, contact Renée de Lota.

"Opportunities in Finance" Employer Panel

Through participation in the "Opportunities in Finance" employer panel, company representatives connect with BBA and MSF students in an informal setting while sharing personal experiences and valuable insight into specific industries, careers and career-focused topics. The panel will be held during BBA Career Week in September, (exact date TBD). Employer registration is open for the Fall 2013 panel.
