Offer Guidelines

McCombs Career Services subscribes to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Principles for Professional Practice. These guidelines address the issues of offer timelines, exploding offers and bonuses, as well as other aspects of recruiting within the university environment.

To complement these principles, McCombs has set forth its own guidelines that we consider reasonable and appropriate for both employers and students. Employers that misrepresent employment opportunities to students will risk losing access or privileges to McCombs Career Services recruiting resources. Additionally, any recruiter attempting to place “improper influence” on students in making an employment decision will be considered to be in violation of the McCombs Career Services Recruiting Guidelines and operating outside the bounds of ethical recruiting practices.  Acknowledgement to the McCombs Career Services Recruiting Guidelines and UT's Equal Employment Opportunity Policy are required in order to participate in on-campus recruiting activities and events at the McCombs School of Business.
