Hong Kong Program Liaison
Program Liaisons are an integral part of the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) and are responsible for assisting the International Program Coordinator and faculty leader(s) in delivering study abroad programs that meet the academic and cultural objectives of the CIBER Summer Study Abroad Programs. The 2012 liaison application process is now closed. Look back next fall for any available positions.
General Details
One liaison will be hired to assist with the implementation and assessment of the CIBER-sponsored International Supply Chain Management Program in Hong Kong. The program liaison handles administrative work associated with the program, serves as an on-site program coordinator, and acts as a cultural ambassador. As part of this responsibility, the liaison will work closely with CIBER staff, faculty leaders, and partner university administrators. The program liaison will report to the CIBER Program Coordinator.
Location
The program will be held at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), a McCombs School of Business partner university. The program includes a one-week study tour to mainland China.
Appointment
Summer 2012 - The liaison will be hired for the duration of the study abroad program. Some position responsibilities will be fulfilled in Austin during the spring semester. The liaison will lead cultural and informational sessions during pre-departure student orientations. The liaison should be available to assist with and present at pre-departure orientations on April 21st, 2012 and April 28th, 2012.
Program Dates
June 2 – July 5, 2012. The liaison is expected to be in Hong Kong from approximately May 30 - July 7, 2012.
Compensation
$3,250 total per liaison. CIBER also provides a round-trip airline ticket between Austin/Hong Kong, per diem meals, single room accommodations at the host school residence and during the mainland China trip, International SOS emergency coverage, and CISI medical coverage.

The program liaisons handle administrative work associated with the program, serve as an on-site program coordinator, and act as a cultural ambassador. As part of this responsibility, the liaisons will work closely with CIBER staff, faculty leaders, and partner university administrators. The program liaisons will report to the CIBER Program Coordinator.
Location
The program will be held at ESCP Europe Business School, a McCombs School of Business partner university.

International Social Media Coordinator
CIBER is looking for seven motivated students to take on the role of International Social Media Coordinator this summer and use their Facebook/Twitter account to document and share their experiences abroad this summer. If you are an avid Facebooker/Tweeter already, and enjoy updating your status and posting fun, interesting content on your profile, then this is the job for you!
Eligibility
Must be participating in one of the seven CIBER Summer Programs Abroad and be a regular Facebooker/Tweeter! One participant from each program will be selected.
Position Responsibilities
- Use your personal Facebook (and if possible Twitter) accounts to share summer experiences abroad with friends and CIBER community by updating status daily.
- Regularly posting videos, photos or music on your Facebook wall to share experiences abroad with friends and CIBER community.
- Creating a 2012 Facebook page for your specific program group and invite fellow CIBER participants to join and "meet" each other.
- Regularly comment/post on the CIBER Summer International Programs Facebook Page.
Each coordinator will receive an iPOD Shuffle!
