Robert J. (Bob) Gibb joins the Fuels Group of Navigant Consulting, Inc. as an Associate Director in the Austin office. Most recently Mr. Gibb worked for TransCanada Corporation as the Director of Business Development and was responsible for new major-scope business projects for the US. Previously, at El Paso Corporation (which acquired Tennessee Gas Pipeline), Mr. Gibb headed the Gas Supply and Marketing groups and was responsible for all new and existing supply connected to three major interstate gas pipelines as well as generating business with Mexico with two new international border crossings.
» Manage staff of professionals in three cities responsible for all aspects of new business for two major interstate pipelines. Expenditures in excess of $500 million identified for next three years. Assumed responsibility for all major U.S. business development projects in July 2009.
» Manage staff of 12 technical professionals and commercial managers responsible for all new and existing supply connected to three major interstate gas pipelines. Attained year-on-year growth in reserves attached in a declining market.
» Initiated business with Mexico now generating $20 million/year revenue. Company became the largest U.S. exporter of gas to Mexico.
» Responsible for all new and existing long-term gas transportation contracts on Tennessee Gas Pipeline. Renewal rates in excess of 90 percent, new contracts providing significant total year-on-year growth. Total annual firm revenues of over $400 million.
» Managed staff of 28 to realign company’s gas supply portfolio to comply with revised Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements. Testified extensively at FERC and various state and local jurisdictional proceedings. Managed settlement negotiations for lawsuits claiming in excess of $2 billion resulting in significantly reduced or elimination of actual costs.
» Responsible for all purchases of gas from large portfolio of gas suppliers including top three providers on system. Total under contract exceeding 1.5bcf/d. Provided support to corporate parent for sale of Tenneco Oil Company.
» Responsible for sales of all gas production from Gulf Coast and Southwestern Divisions. Negotiated and managed daily sales of 120mmcf/d using over 80 different contract buyers. Negotiated settlements of outstanding disputes resulting in $4 million in receipts.
» Responsible for all aspects of Petroleum Engineering and economic analysis for over 2,500 company-operated wells and 1,500 outside-operated wells.
» Supervised successful analysis and acquisition of three energy companies, total investment exceeding $200 million.
» Testified as expert witness on various engineering and policy issues in New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota and at the FERC.
» Provided exclusive engineering support for litigation involving New Mexico properties, which was a five year process heard by Federal District Court, 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, Texas Supreme Court, and FERC. Reviewed by U.S. Supreme Court. Successful outcome resulted in construction of the largest gas processing plant in the United States and gained operation of over 1,300 wells.
» As a Research Associate/Engineer for Marathon Oil Company, designed and supervised drilling and testing of shallow wells for tertiary recovery projects in Illinois and Pennsylvania.
