The annual Texas, and Global, competitions make up the Venture Labs Investment Competition (VLIC). These competitions are opportunities for students from The University of Texas at Austin, and universities around the world, to obtain funding for new ventures.
The Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition (Texas VLIC) is held each February with the Global Venture Labs Investment Competition (Global VLIC) takes place in May. Additional details will be posted below as they become available. For the most up-to-date details subscribe to our newsletter.
Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition
Texas VLIC is open to graduate students from the University of Texas System in the process of launching a business. Each February we invite 20-25 teams to compete for cash and prizes currently valued at $134,000:

Global Venture Labs Investment Competition
Global VLIC, the Super Bowl of Investment Competitions, is the premier world-wide investment competition. It's hosted each May at The University of Texas at Austin by the Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs. Teams from around the World compete for cash and prizes including:
- A total cash prize of $78,000
- An Invitation to close the NASDAQ OMX Stock Market on June 11, 2013
- Hosting and cloud services worth $24,000
- The Austin Technology Incubator Launch Package valued at $25,000
- Consulting time with the Director and Assistant Director of the Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs
