The annual Texas, and Global, competitions make up the Venture Labs Investment Competition (VLIC). These competitions are opportunities for students from The University of Texas at Austin, and universities around the world, to obtain funding for new ventures.

The Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition (Texas VLIC) is held each February, and the Global Venture Labs Investment Competition (Global VLIC) takes place in May. Additional details will be posted below as they become available. For the most up-to-date details subscribe to our newsletter.

Global Venture Labs Investment Competition

2013 Global VLIC Champion Announced: Congratulations to Visolis from the Indian School of Business. Visolis is developing the next generation of biocatalysts that can convert renewable feedstocks into chemicals and fuels at a price point competitive with petroleum based processes. Visolis beat out 39 teams from top graduate programs around the world to claim the grand prize at the 30th Global Venture Labs Investment Competition. Global VLIC, the Super Bowl of Investment Competitions is the premier world-wide investment competition, and is hosted annually at The University of Texas at Austin by the Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs. Teams from around the World compete for awards over $150,000.
