McCombs Students
Diversity at McCombs

In an effort to develop leaders who are well-prepared to enter today’s global business society, the McCombs School strives to create an inclusive and diverse student community. We believe it is essential for our students to, not only have access to world-class faculty and academics, but also to engage with students whose backgrounds differ from their own. Thus it is critical that we provide the infrastructure necessary to make these opportunities a reality and support and develop a diverse student body. Through school sponsored diversity initiatives at McCombs, prospective and future McCombs School students build leadership skills and knowledge of the global business world while reaping long-lasting benefits from an environment of growth, understanding, and enrichment that cultural and ethnic diversity creates.

Diversity Initiatives Overview

Through a partnership of the school’s academic program offices and corporate supporters of diversity initiatives at McCombs, students have the opportunity to participate in programs designed to attract, retain, and develop a culturally diverse student population. Financial support of these programs enables the McCombs School to offer:

  • Pipeline admissions activities,
  • Diversity awareness programming, and
  • Increased scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students.

Initiatives focus on student community-building, mentoring, and coaching for first-generation college students, leadership panels, and professional networking. Programs take place throughout the academic year and include events such as the BBA Women’s Council Roundtable Breakfast Forum, MBA Diversity Weekend event, and Target Your Future, a program that prepares first generation undergraduate minority business students for the workplace.

Corporate Partnership Opportunities

We invite corporations to partner with us to support school sponsored diversity initiatives at McCombs. Your financial assistance and leadership will allow the McCombs School to develop mentoring programs and student initiatives and provide infrastructure and scholarships to BBA and MBA students. In return, corporate partners are given the opportunity to increase their visibility and actively engage with a diverse student population at the McCombs School. Additional to the event specific benefits, companies that give a minimum of $5,000 for diversity initiatives at McCombs will also receive the following:

  • Logo on the Corporate and Foundation Relations website and related program websites
  • Recognition in the electronic newsletter distributed to undergraduate and graduate students

Support extends beyond a financial commitment and offers companies the chance to connect with students early on and make a meaningful difference in their lives through mentoring, career guidance, leadership development, and more.
