New MIS Scholarships
Tim Ruefli Scholarship
To honor Tim Ruefli, Daniel B. Stuart Centennial Professor in the Applications of Computers to Business and creator of IC2, a think tank that researched the intersection of business, government and education. Created by his wife, Elizabeth.
Criteria:
Recipients shall be selected by a faculty committee in the McCombs School of Business, with approval of the Dean or the Dean’s designated representative. The selection process and criteria shall be based on the following:
- Recipients must have demonstrated financial need.
- Recipients must be enrolled full-time in the McCombs School of Business. Exceptions to this requirement may be made for students in their final semester prior to graduation if a less-than-full-time course load will enable the students to complete their degree requirements.
- Awards shall be targeted to incoming freshmen with awards renewed in successive years provided that the recipient satisfies the above minimum scholarship criteria, demonstrates appropriate progress toward a degree, and reapplies for the scholarship.
Dr. Polley Ann McClure Scholarship
By Wayne Brown, a close friend of Dr. McClure. Dr. McClure attended UT and received her BA in Zoology in ’65 and then her PHD in Zoology in ’70 from the College of Natural Sciences. Dr. McClure went on to pursue a career in the world of information systems.

Recipients shall be selected by the IROM Chair and MIS Program Director in the McCombs School of Business, with approval of the Dean or the Dean’s designated representative. The selection process and selection criteria shall be based on the following:

First preference should be given to recipients who show an interest in furthering the role of women and/or minorities in the area of Management Information Systems, as evidenced by an essay or by applicable community service.
