SIM Austin's Event has a packed house at UT.

Society for Information Management Holds Annual Meeting at UT

MISA recently paired up with the SIM Austin chapter and the Graduate MIS organization to discuss 10 new tech trends at the UT Austin Alumni Center.  SIM (Society for Information Management) is an organization for IT Professionals that fosters knowledge exchange and sharing of best practices in the fields of Information Management.  Both faculty and UT Alumni are members of SIM and this was the first time the organization’s Austin Chapter was able to team up with the program and students to conduct its annual meeting and discussion.

We’re happy to report that the event was a great success!  The night started with refreshments and networking followed by breakout tables that focused discussion about topics such as Big Data, Agile Methods, IT in Healthcare, Infonomics, and more!  Afterwards the teams reported back to the group as a whole.

This event served as a great chance for faculty, students, and outside professionals to network, exchange ideas, and build what will become long-term partnerships.  We hope to make this an annual event with SIM and also encourage our Austin-area alumni to consider joining SIM.   For more information please check out: http://www.simnet.org/
