Biography

Dr. Patrick Badolato earned BS degrees in Accounting and Economics from Villanova University and a Ph.D. in Accounting from Duke University in 2010. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., Patrick worked in the assurance and tax practices for Ernst & Young in Philadelphia, PA where he earned his CPA license. His research interests center around corporate governance, financial reporting choices and the use of financial information. His teaching expertise focuses on Financial Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis and he has taught in the Executive MBA, Daytime MBA, MPA, MSTC, and undergraduate programs at the University of Texas at Austin. During the Fall semester of 2013 he will be teaching in the University’s Honors and Executive MBA programs. Patrick’s attraction to academia stems from the unique opportunity to constantly learn from and give back to the greater research community, his colleagues, and his students.
