John V. Duca

Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
Duca leads and conducts research in macroeconomics and finance for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. He has been with the Bank since 1991. He has given numerous briefings on the economy to the Bank’s president and board of directors. Duca has published more than 60 articles on money, credit, wages and housing in scholarly journals and Bank publications. Much of this research analyzes how innovations have altered economic relationships relevant to the macroeconomy and monetary policy. From 1986 to 1991, Duca was a staff economist at the Federal Reserve Board, where he briefed former chairmen Alan Greenspan and Paul Volcker and other Fed policymakers. Additionally, he was a part-time lecturer at the University of Maryland. He is currently a part-time lecturer at Southern Methodist University. He is also the executive director of the International Banking, Economics, and Finance Association. He holds a BA from Yale University and a PhD in economics from Princeton University.

Richard "Ric" Kayne is the Chief Executive Officer of the investment management firm of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P., a $28 billion alternative asset manager. He co-founded the firm in 1984 with John E. Anderson, lawyer and successful entrepreneur. Mr. Kayne began his career in the mid-1960s as an analyst with Loeb, Rhodes & Co. in New York. Prior to forming Kayne Anderson, he was a principal of Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., Inc. Mr. Kayne earned a B.S. in Statistics from Stanford University in 1966 and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1968. Mr. Kayne is on the Board of Directors of Glacier Water Services Inc. He is also on the Board of Visitors of the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, and is a Trustee of the UCLA Foundation.
In addition to co-founding Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, Mr. Kayne founded Kayne Anderson Rudnick, a traditional investment management firm. Mr. Kayne grew that firm to over $10 billion in assets under management and sold it in 2001 to the Phoenix Companies. Mr. Kayne is a trustee of and the former chairman of the Investment Committee of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Foundation and is a trustee of and former co-chairman of the Investment Committee of the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles. He began his career in the mid-1960s as an analyst with Loeb, Rhodes & Co. in New York and was a principal of Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., Inc., where he managed private accounts, a hedge fund and a portion of firm capital. Mr. Kayne earned a B.S. in statistics from Stanford University in 1966 and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1968.
