Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, has been a political, economic, and cultural center of Europe for more than 1,000 years. The “city of a hundred spires” on the river Volta is also home to a number of famous cultural attractions, and many survived the extraordinary war-wrought destruction of 20th century Europe. Popular sites include: the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, the Jewish Quarter, and the Lennon Wall. With a growing and diverse population of more than 2.3 million, an extensive and lively history, and relatively easy access to the rest of Europe, Prague is, without a doubt, one of a kind.

The University of Economics, Prague, (Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze, abbreviated VŠE) is a leader in the field of management and economics in the Czech Republic. With almost 20,000 students--3,000 of which are international students mostly from the EU and post-Soviet countries--it's considered the Czech Republic’s largest university in the fields of economics, business and information technologies. Officially founded as VSE in 1919, it received the second-highest ranking in post-communist European countries.
