Financing Your Degree

To assist in financing your education, the university offers opportunities for merit and merit/need-based scholarships to complement the over $500 million dollars of financial aid awarded to students every year. In addition, the McCombs School of Business offers endowed and corporate scholarships for continuing students in the program making McCombs one of the best educational values in the nation.

Scholarships Overview
University-Wide Scholarships
The university has an application to fill out that makes you eligible for all scholarships offered by UT. Scholarship committees consider various factors to determine which scholarships to award to each individual.
McCombs School of Business Scholarships
In the Spring of your freshmen year, you are eligible to apply for scholarships offered by the business school. Like the university, the business school scholarships also have one application to fill out to make you eligible for all scholarships offered and awards are determined by a selection committee.

Financial Aid
UT Austin awards $500 million a year in financial aid. Your very first step to apply for scholarships and financial aid is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All need-based financial aid is awarded based on your FAFSA information. Aid can come in many forms including grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities and loans.

Non-Resident Information
Non-residents can be considered for scholarships through the university scholarship application. Non-residents studying business also qualify for McCombs scholarships starting the Spring semester of their freshman year. Please note, the McCombs School of Business does not award non-resident tuition exemptions to undergraduates.
