McCombs Kickoff

McCombs Kickoff is a day-long, large scale event that invites all incoming business freshmen and transfers to spend a day with each other and current students. The event includes a relaxing boat ride on Lake Austin, swimming in the cool waters of Barton Springs, and a live concert in Zilker Park - all with food and music provided by local Austin vendors and musicians.

The day is an opportunity for new business students to gain experience and have fun with current McCombs' students. If you are looking to get involved at McCombs or on campus, this is the right place to start!

Fall 2014

McCombs Kickoff 2014 is Coming Soon!

This year, the Kickoff theme is "How I Met McCombs" based off the "How I Met Your Mother" television show. "How I Met McCombs" will be a fantastic introduction for all business freshmen and newly transferred students to not only meet the McCombs School of Business, but the city of Austin as well.

The event will take place on Monday, August 25 and will include a boat ride around Lake Austin, swimming in Barton Springs, and a Zilker Park live concert with food and music provided by local Austin vendors and musicians. Along the way, you will get to meet seasoned McCombs leaders and make friends that will last a lifetime.

Fall 2013

McCombs City Limits

The Fall 2013 Kickoff theme was "McCombs City Limits" based off of the "Austin City Limits" annual music festival. The event consisted of food, music, and activities all provided by local Austin vendors and musicians.

The Undergraduate Business Council extends a thank you for the catering provided by the local Austin's PizzaSugar Shack BBQ, and Jim Jim's Water Ice, as well as a live concert from Austin's own "The Bipolar Bears".

Fall 2012

It’s Always Sunny in McCombs

The Fall 2012 Kickoff theme was "It’s Always Sunny in McCombs" based off of the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" comedy television show. The event consisted of food, music, and activities all provided by local Austin vendors and musicians.

The Undergraduate Business Council extends a thank you for the catering provided by the local Austin's PizzaSugar Shack BBQ, and Jim Jim's Water Ice, as well as a live concert from Austin's own Suite 709.

Fall 2011

Keep McCombs Weird

The Fall 2011 Kickoff theme was "Keep McCombs Weird" based off of the "Keep Austin Weird" slogan that has been with the city for decades. The theme contained food, music, and activities all provided by local Austin vendors and musicians.

The Undergraduate Business Council extends a thank you for the catering provided by the local Jalopy and a live concert from Austin's own Suite 709.

Fall 2010

McCombs Day Off

The theme for Fall 2010's McCombs Kickoff was "McCombs Day Off." Events included a boat party on lake Austin, activities and games at Zilker Park, and a refreshing swim in Austin's legendary Barton Springs natural spring.

 Caterers for the event include H-E-B, Starbucks, and Domino's Pizza. The Undergraduate Business Council wants to thank these companies in helping put on this important event.
