On March 1, Robert Prentice presented a paper on teaching behavioral ethics using Ethics Unwrapped videos at the Association for Professional and Practical Ethics (APPE) annual meeting in Jacksonville, FL.
Cara Biasucci, film maker for EthicsUnwrapped, the BGS free ethics video series, has posted three new videos with content provided by Dr. Minette Drumwright--Moral Myopia, Moral Muteness, and Moral Imagination.
Ethics Unwrapped won a 2014 Silver CASE award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. The winning video, "Fundamental Attribution Error," was written and narrated by Robert Prentice and features MBA and undergraduate students from UT. The animated video explores a fundamental flaw in our thinking that can cause us to misjudge and misinterpret unethical behavior in ourselves and in others.
McCombs Today recently wrote about two grants that Ethics Unwrapped received. The two grants were awarded so that the project can continue working on integrating ethics education into the curriculum of schools around the world. One grant was from the Office of the Provost at the University of Texas at Austin. That grant was awarded to the College of Fine Arts under the directions to work to incorporate Ethics Unwrapped into the curriculum across campus. The other grant is from the Teagle Foundation. This grant, in the amount of $150,000, was awarded under the direction to create and implement new tools for grounding ethics education in the arts and humanities.”
In March, the BGS “Ethics Unwrapped” video series won two CASE awards from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education in the Electronic Communication Web and New Media category. “Ethical Fading” won a Silver CASE Award, and “Role Morality” won a Bronze CASE Award. These short videos combine animation, live action, and a touch of humor to educate students about concepts in behavioral ethics. Both winning videos were written and narrated by Robert Prentice.
