2015 Diversity Forum Student Hosts
Ryan Flaharty, MBA '16
Originally from Massachusetts, Ryan went to undergrad at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, where he graduated with a degree in Plastics Engineering. He then moved to Charlotte, NC after graduation to work for the consumer products company Newell-Rubbermaid. There he had various roles from Materials Engineer to Program Manager. He is currently one of the Graduate Business Council’s Social Chairs, VP of Strategy for Marketing Fellows, Diversity Forum Chair for Consortium, and is a member of the McCombs Admissions Committee. This summer he interned at Chevron in there Technology Ventures group.
April Asico, MBA '16
April Asico is a second year MBA student at McCombs School of Business concentrating in marketing. She is a selected member and Co-Vice President of Recruiting for Marketing Fellows, Social Co-Chair of the Graduate Business Council (GBC), McCombs Admissions Committee (MAC) Diversity Forum Co-Chair, and President of eQual MBAs at McCombs. She is also an active member of Graduate Marketing Network (GMN) and Graduate Women in Business (GWiB). April formerly was a Human Capital Senior Consultant at Deloitte Consulting. Her areas of practice included: change strategy and solution planning, learning development and delivery, communication planning and management, and business process analysis, design and implementation. This past summer she interned at Walmart as an Associate Marketing Manager Intern where she developed short-term and long-term recommendations for in-store, online, and mobile application to increase ratings and reviews for Walmart products among millennials. Post McCombs, she will be returning to Deloitte to help grow the Austin office's retail industry presence.

Official Start & End of the Event
The official event starts at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015. The event officially closes at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015. All other events outside this time frame are optional.
If you register for a class visit on Thursday, November 12, please arrive 15 minutes early to register and meet your student host in the Big Bend Conference Room in the MBA Program Office at the McCombs School of Business.

AT&T Executive Education & Conference Center Hotel

The hotel is located directly on campus and it's about a five-minute walk from the McCombs School of Business, where the Diversity Forum events will be held. More information about the hotel can be found at www.meetattexas.com.
The MBA program is pleased to cover the cost of your stay on Friday night. You will check in on Friday, November 13 and check out on Saturday, November 14. Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. If you plan to check out on Saturday, you are welcome to bring your luggage to McCombs and we'll store it for you throughout the day. You will be paired with a roommate also attending the Diversity Forum. All incidentals are the responsibility of the guest. If you would like to stay at the AT&T Center on the nights of Thursday, November 12, or Saturday, November 14, a block of rooms has been reserved under the name "Texas MBA Diversity Forum.” You must indicate this on your event registration form.
The University of Texas campus is located approximately 12 miles (20-30 minutes) from the Austin Bergstrom International Airport. Taxis are readily available at the airport and will cost about $25 to get from the airport to the UT Austin campus. Taxis are also available at the AT&T Center for transportation back to the airport. Travel and transportation expenses are not covered.
There will be no off-campus events during this Diversity Forum, however, if you prefer to have your own mode of transportation during your stay in Austin, here is a list of rental car companies at the Austin airport. Please note that the cost of parking is not covered at the AT&T Center and is the responsibility of the guest.
If you drive to campus and are staying at the AT&T Center, we recommend parking in the AT&T Conference Center Garage, which is located directly underneath the hotel. Overnight guests of the hotel may obtain a parking card at the front desk for garage parking at $14 per night. Valet parking is $14 per visit or $21 overnight, plus tax.
If you're driving to campus but not staying at the AT&T Center, you can also park in the Brazos Garage, which is located at the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Brazos. Day parking (3-16 hours) at Brazos Garage costs $12. Overnight parking is $18.
If you can no longer attend the Diversity Forum, please email Diversity@mccombs.utexas.edu and let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to another applicant.
Forum session dress is business casual attire. Evening and social events are Austin casual! Austin weather can be unpredictable in the fall, but around mid November it is light jacket weather.
