Texas MBA | Full-Time Program

Texas MBA Diversity Forum

Orientation Program 2011The McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin is committed to providing a diverse, well balanced, real-world business education. Through the Texas MBA Diversity Forum event, qualified students are given the opportunity to connect with members of the McCombs community, including current students, alumni, faculty, staff and other applicants, as they learn the vital skills essential to navigating the MBA application process. Activities from past events have included: MBA information sessions, business school tours, class visits, faculty panels, workshops, case discussions, MBA student and alumni panels, informal socials and other networking opportunities.

Due to space constraints, participation at the Diversity Forum is by application only. LGBT, African American, Hispanic American and Native American prospective students are strongly encouraged to apply for this event, but the event is open to include all prospective students with an interest in improving the diversity in business schools and in management.

The 2012 Texas MBA Diversity Forum has passed. Details regarding next year’s forum will be posted in Fall 2013.

Travel and Logistics

Hotel Accomodations

If you need hotel accommodations, we will make a reservation for you at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center Hotel while you're in Austin.

Hotel expenses are covered for only two nights: Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26 (check in 10/25, check out morning of 10/27). Any incidental expenses (room service, parking, phone/internet/TV) will be at your own expense. If you need additional hotel nights outside of that covered range, you will need to make your own accommodations.

The hotel is located directly on campus and is about a five-minute walk from the McCombs School of Business where the Forum events will be held. More information about the hotel can be found at www.meetattexas.com

Transportation

The University of Texas campus is located approximately 12 miles (20 - 30 minutes) from the Austin Bergstrom International Airport. Taxis are readily available at the airport and will cost about $25 to get from the airport to the UT campus. Taxis are also available at the AT&T Center for transportation back to the airport. Travel and transportation expenses are not covered. In case you’d like your own vehicle, there are several rental car companies at the Austin airport.

Parking

If you drive to campus and are staying at the AT&T Hotel, we recommend parking in the AT&T Conference Center Garage, which is located directly underneath the hotel. Overnight guests of the hotel may obtain a parking card at the front desk for garage parking at $14 per night. Valet parking is $14 per visit or $21 overnight, plus tax.

If you're driving to campus but not staying at the AT&T Center, you can also park in the Brazos Garage, which is located at the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Brazos. Day parking (3 - 16 hours) at Brazos Garage costs $12. Overnight parking is $18.
