Admission to the Texas MPA Program
The Master in Professional Accounting program at The University of Texas at Austin welcomes students with bachelor’s degrees in any academic discipline (as long as you've completed the specific pre-enrollment requirements). Admission to the MPA program is competitive. We seek motivated students whose records reflect a balance of academic ability, professionalism, and strong communication, quantitative/analytical and leadership skills.
In the application review, the admissions committee assesses an individual's potential for academic success and future professional growth. Both quantitative and qualitative aspects of an application are considered. The committee considers all information supplied within the application as well as any applicant communications with the MPA staff and Department of Accounting faculty. Overall diversity within the MPA program is also important, and we form entering classes with this in mind.
