Additional Ways to Give
2013 IRA rollover gifts from donors 70½ years of age and older
Legislation passed by the Congress of the United States on Jan. 1, 2013, extends the opportunity for older Americans to make gifts from individual retirement accounts (IRAs) to The University of Texas at Austin through Dec. 31, 2013.
Individuals age 70½ or older can direct the custodian of an IRA to transfer up to $100,000 to the university before Dec. 31, 2013. The gift amount must be transferred directly from the custodian of the IRA. The owner of the IRA can designate how the gift is to be used by the university, but the gift cannot be used to pay memberships or to retain or obtain preferred seating for athletic events.
As long as these requirements are followed, the amount transferred from the IRA custodian to the university is not reportable as income but also does not qualify for the federal income tax charitable deduction.
IRA rollover gifts should be made payable to The University of Texas at Austin and mailed to:

Gift Planning is one of the most powerful ways you can benefit the McCombs School of Business. Many people tend to associate this type of philanthropy only with wills, estates, and legacies, and may assume that the benefits flow in just one direction. In fact, a planned gift can be extremely flexible, include many tax advantages, and ensure a reliable lifetime income for you while ultimately directing valuable resources to the McCombs School.
