Invest In McCombs | Why Give

Your Gifts at Work

Whether you give to a specific program or encourage overall excellence through Annual Giving, your gift makes a tangible impact. Leadership Society members receive special recognition and benefits. Below are some of the areas your gift can support.

How to Give to Faculty

Faculty chairs, professorships, and fellowships build the reputation of the school and are evidence of strong commitment to academic achievement. They foster a sense of tradition, and reward our best faculty with the tools to become more productive. In addition to providing year-round salary incentives for our most productive faculty, chairs and fellowships provide for support staff, research assistance, conference travel, and continuing education allowances.

Rebecca Nelson Davis with Professor Jim Fredrickson at the Annual Faculty Endowment Appreciation LunchTo support the efforts of faculty and help us recruit, retain, and reward the faculty excellence that increases our standing and benefits our constituents, consider supporting one of the following options:

  • Endowed chairs are awarded to deans, department chairs, and superior faculty to enhance their scholarly efforts and research.

  • Endowed professorships are awarded to outstanding faculty members to reward and enhance scholarly efforts.

  • Endowed faculty fellowships support excellent teaching faculty regardless of rank or tenure, including visiting scholars in residence.

Faculty Excellence Funds are flexible funds dedicated to promoting faculty research, teaching, and continuing education. They can be used to respond quickly to sudden opportunities that may arise, and are a key asset in a rapidly-changing business world. In conjunction with visionary leadership, Excellence Funds ensure we can fulfill our mandate to take the McCombs School to the next level of greatness.

How to Give to Students

Matt Unger and Tom Mays at the Annual Scholarship DinnerCurrently the McCombs School is only able to provide scholarship packages to 2% of incoming freshman. We have set a goal to establish a community of scholars built on a tiered “McCombs Scholars” program. Over the long-term, this ambitious initiative seeks to equip the McCombs School with 375 total scholarships (over 90 per class)—enough to ensure that the very brightest young minds in business have every reason to call the McCombs School home.

How to Give to Facilities

Facility Endowments assure that students and researchers always have access to the latest business technology. These endowments also provide for repair and replacement of damaged furnishings, ensuring appropriately maintained surroundings for our students. These funds support the “behind the scenes” work of the McCombs School, providing for technology infrastructure upgrades as well as enhancements to the public face of the school.

Naming Opportunities

Contributions that materially improve the McCombs School of Business are often honored by a naming designation. There are many naming opportunities available, including interview rooms in the Ford Career Center Interview suite and student study facilities. Plus, naming opportunities are available at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center where we hold our continuing education and working professional and executive MBA programs.
