Overview of the Texas Executive MBA Program
The Texas Executive MBA program is a two year program, consisting of four consecutive academic semesters and 42 credit hours of coursework. When you join the program, each year commences with a week-long executive seminar to help prepare you for the upcoming year and concludes with a week-long seminar to apply your learnings. Classes, which vary in approach from lectures to discussions to case studies, group projects and experiential exercises, are scheduled on alternate weekends, meeting on both Friday and Saturday from 8:00am-5:30pm at the AT&T Executive Conference Center at The University of Texas at Austin.
Among the faculty are scholars well known in academia, business and the public sector for their research activities and expertise in a wide range of fields. Many faculty members have considerable experience consulting and working on ongoing projects for multinational corporations here and in international settings. Faculty in the Texas Executive MBA Program are dedicated to maintaining the high standards of teaching excellence that are expected throughout the McCombs School of Business.
The goals of the Texas Executive MBA Program are to encourage and support your development in the following areas:
- Top management perspective -- the ability to anticipate, assess, and respond to opportunities and problems from the standpoint of the organization as a whole and the ability to create strategic and tactically integrated plans to achieve corporate goals.
- Understanding of the economic, social, and political forces driving changes in industries and markets, both domestically and internationally.
- Competence in key functional areas of business, including finance, accounting and control, marketing, and quantitative methods.
- Command of quantitative and qualitative tools that assist in the implementation of strategic plans and improve net results.
- Capabilities in analyzing and redesigning organizations and in leading and managing people through change.
In addition to the core coursework, participants will complete six elective hours tailored to their specific areas of interest.
