Texas Executive MBA Admissions Committee
The Texas MBA Admissions Committee is a diverse group of individuals dedicated to the same goal of bringing the best and brightest students to the McCombs School of Business.
Director of Texas Executive MBA
Dr. Burrows received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt in 1988. Following graduation, he moved to Germany to work for Ingenieurbüro Glöckl in Munich as a financial analyst for development projects with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Fascinated by life in East Germany, he took a job with Ernst & Young in Leipzig, Germany soon after the fall of the Berlin wall. In 1994, he moved back home to Austin to join Dell Computer Corporation as it became a global corporation. He currently teaches leadership, negotiation, and managing teams. Dr. Burrows is a speaker at numerous industry and organizational conferences, and his published work in cross-cultural leadership has received accolades from the Academy of Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists.
Director of MBA Admissions
In his current role, he is responsible for developing the recruiting and enrollment strategy for the school’s full-time, executive, and three working professional programs. Originally from Brazil, Rodrigo moved to the United States in high school and earned his bachelor’s degree in Management from Missouri State University. Prior to joining the higher education industry at The University of Texas at Austin, Rodrigo used his MBA experience at McCombs to transition from an internal audit career in the telecommunications industry with Sprint-Nextel to a marketing role in the technology industry with Dell. Being Director of MBA Admissions at McCombs is his dream job, and needless to say, Rodrigo is extremely passionate about “futebol” and is said to bleed burnt orange.
Senior Associate Director of Working Professional and Executive MBA Admissions
A native Texan, Sharon received her BBA from McCombs, and before joining the McCombs admissions team in 2008, worked in the professional association industry managing membership and certification programs. An avid traveler, Sharon also loves to be home enjoying the vibrant city of Austin with her family and friends.
McCombs Ambassador Committee
The McCombs Ambassador Committee (MAC) within the Texas Executive MBA program plays a vital role by providing a student perspective on the MBA admissions process. The MAC is comprised solely of current students in the Executive MBA program. As students who recently went through the MBA admissions process, our MAC members are a source of insight into the program for you, and a source of constant feedback for our admissions office to ensure we are addressing your needs as potential applicants and future Texas MBA students.
MAC members participate in many aspects of MBA admissions such as attending recruiting events, hosting prospective students for class visits or during coffee chats, and answering prospective student questions both via email and over the phone. In all of these ways, the MAC seeks to establish a personal connection with each prospective student, applicant, and future Texas MBA.
