Public and Governmental Affairs

Business leaders face an increasingly complicated and fluid legal and regulatory environment—one characterized by frequent interactions between business and governments. The ability to manage business-government relations issues is a becoming core leadership skill. The MBA concentration in Public & Governmental Affairs is intended for students interested in either public and governmental affairs positions within business firms or the impact of law and regulation on strategy. The coursework within this concentration will provide students with the tools and knowledge they need to effectively manage the regulatory, political and legal environment of business.

Curriculum Requirements

Required course:
  • BGS 381 - Law, Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility
A minimum of two courses from the following:
  • BGS 380C - Strategic Corporate Communication
  • BGS 380 - Corporate Political Strategy
  • BGS 380 - Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility
  • BGS 385 - Business Government & Public Policy
  • BGS 385W - Business Government & Public Policy (WC)
If a fourth course is needed to complete the concentration, choose from the following:

REGULATION, POLITICS AND LAW
