The Texas MBA Admissions Committee is a diverse group of individuals dedicated to the same goal of bringing the best and brightest students to McCombs.
Full-Time MBA Admissions Officers
Director of MBA Admissions
Rodrigo is responsible for developing recruiting and enrollment strategy for the school’s full-time, executive, and working professional programs. Rodrigo grew up in Brazil, and moved to the United States in high school. He earned his bachelor’s degree in management from Missouri State University. Rodrigo used his MBA experience at McCombs to transition from an internal audit career in the telecommunications industry with Sprint-Nextel to a marketing role in the technology industry with Dell. Being the Director of MBA Admissions at McCombs is his dream job. Rodrigo is extremely passionate about “futebol” and is said to bleed burnt orange.
Associate Director of MBA Admissions
Julia is responsible for recruiting and admissions for the full-time MBA program, with particular emphasis on Women’s and Diversity initiatives. She is also involved in enhancing the alumni engagement experience. Julia was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and she grew up working on her family’s farm and restaurant. After she graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a business degree in Finance and Operations Management, she moved to Texas with the rest of her family, and began work as a Market Analyst for an international commercial real estate firm in Houston. Eager to join the rest of her kin in Austin, she landed a job at McCombs working in fundraising and stewardship, married a Texan and started using the word “y’all.” She's an enthusiastic member of the MBA admissions team, and proud to call herself a Longhorn and a queso enthusiast.
Associate Director of MBA Admissions
Brodie is responsible for recruiting and admissions for the full-time MBA program, with emphasis on international recruitment and operations. He also leads the McCombs Admissions Committee. Brodie was born in the big city of Houston, and raised on a ranch in the tiny town of Comfort, TX. He's found his perfect balance in Austin. He received his bachelor's degree in communication studies and feminist studies from Southwestern University (just north of Austin in Georgetown, Texas), and his M.A. in Women’s Studies from San Diego State University in California. He spent the next few years finishing school consulting corporate America on diversity and recruitment strategy in the Bay Area. He missed Texas and academia, so he made the big move back to his home state, and now he can finally call himself a genuine Longhorn.
McCombs Admissions Committee
The McCombs Admissions Committee (MAC) provides student perspectives on the MBA admissions process. Only first and second-year MBA students serve on the MAC. Our MAC members have been through the process, and they can be sources of insight into the program for you. They also give our admissions office constant feedback to ensure we are addressing your needs as potential applicants and future Texas MBA students.
MAC members participate in many aspects of MBA admissions and are often your first point of contact with McCombs. They're the faces of the program, and you may see them attending recruiting events, conducting tours of McCombs, taking prospective students for class visits or out to lunch, leading info sessions and participating in Texas MBA Fridays, and meeting with walk-in prospective students for the MBA program. MAC members also spend hours each week answering phone calls and emails addressing questions you may have or application issues you may encounter. The MAC seeks to establish a personal connection with each prospective student, applicant, and future Texas MBA.
