Diversity at McCombs
The McCombs School of Business offers a welcoming environment for people from all backgrounds—a value confirmed by our commitment to organizations like the Forté Foundation, the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management and Management Leadership for Tomorrow as well as consistently ranking among the top business schools in the country for Hispanics by Hispanic Business magazine. Through small study groups, school-sponsored activities and student organizations, you are encouraged to explore and exchange diverse experiences. Active organizations such as the Black Graduate Business Association, Graduate Women in Business, and MBA OUTSource (for LGBT students and allies) call attention to the diversity of the class and promote the transformation of the traditional corporate landscape.
Diversity Events
A great way to introduce yourself to our diverse community is by attending one of our diversity events. Each fall, McCombs offers Diversity Forum and Women's Forum events for prospective students to get to know our community. Through these campus visit opportunities you will meet current students, staff, faculty and alumni and learn more about various aspects of the MBA experience - from the classroom to the city of Austin.
Diversity Forum
This year's Diversity Forum event took place on October 20-21, 2011. Participants enjoyed two full days and evenings of MBA activity - from an alumni roundtable and career management advice to a discussion with popular MBA professors. Women's Forum
This year's Women's Forum event took place on November 10-11, 2011. Over these two days participants explored the MBA curriculum as well as outside the classroom activities and met many strong business women from current students to faculty and alumni.
