The McCombs community is full of strong, dynamic women working to advance their education, build solid leadership skills, and open themselves to new opportunities in the world of business. The moment you begin your experience in the program, McCombs offers support through our membership with the Forté Foundation, as well as various women’s events and student organizations like GWiB - Graduate Women in Business. These opportunities allow Texas MBA women to make outstanding contributions within the program and beyond.
McCombs is a founding member of the Forté Foundation, a national non-profit organization designed to substantially increase the number of women business owners, and build awareness of business education among young women to increase the number of women entering business, and to support the careers of women through business networks. McCombs participates in Forte Forum events throughout the fall as well as the annual Forté MBA Women's Conference each summer.
Forté Forum Fall Events
The Forté Forums are designed to provide information for all women interested in learning more about business school and the value of an MBA - including college graduates, current college students, and women with other Master’s or Professional degrees. Each fall, McCombs awards select incoming MBA candidates with Forté Fellowship awards. Candidates exhibit exemplary leadership in one or more ways: academic leadership; team leadership; community leadership; creative leadership and demonstrate their commitment to the women's initiatives. Aside from the financial benefits, Forté Fellows receive additional leadership and networking opportunities within the Forte community.
Texas MBA Women's Forum
The Texas MBA Women's Forum event at the McCombs School of Business offers you the opportunity to meet many of our future female business leaders currently enrolled in the Texas MBA program, attend a class, meet faculty, and share alumni experiences. Additionally, you will gain knowledge about the admissions process, discover career opportunities, grasp the global experience, and picture yourself as a Texas MBA. Graduate Women in Business
The Graduate Women in Business (GWIB) student organization strives to provide an atmosphere conducive to the professional and personal development of its members. Membership is open to all women enrolled in the full-time MBA program. Each year GWIB hosts events designed to encourage professional development, networking/social events and the annual Women in Business Leadership Conference.

Texas Wall Street Women
TXWSW is comprised of women in the finance industry, including hedge funds, private equity and venture capital firms, mutual funds, public pensions, endowments, foundations, wealth management firms, investment banks, attorneys, accountants, and other money-management and service provider firms. We also welcome those individuals in government and non-profit entities in the financial industry as well as students that wish to pursue finance as a career. Texas Wall Street Women offers opportunities for networking & mentoring, education, and philanthropy. Membership levels vary and are free for students.
Women in Business Leadership Conference
Each year, McCombs hosts the annual Women in Business Leadership Conference. The mission of the conference is to cultivate and enrich the MBA women's academic experience, enhance career and mentorship networks for women, and celebrate the remarkable strengths women bring to corporate America. We bring together motivated MBA students, alumni, successful corporate businesswomen, and thriving entrepreneurs from all over the country to connect, discuss and learn more about issues facing women.
Women at McCombs Leadership Lunch Series
This year the MBA Program Office is sponsoring the Women at McCombs Leadership Lunch Series. These lunches bring together our current female students, faculty and staff two to three times during the semester to learn about business opportunities for women in various fields. Alumni are invited to come back and give presentations on specific functional areas, including finance, marketing and entrepreneurship. Each event brings a new opportunity for learning, community-building, and mentoring - all over a nice meal. Who says there's no such thing as a free lunch?
