Introducing your Hosts to the 2011 Texas MBA Women's Forum

Julie Bruce, MBA 2013

julie-bruceJulie Bruce is a first year student in the Texas MBA program focusing on Finance. She is a member of the Graduate Women in Business (GWIB), Graduate Finance Association, Sports, Entertainment, and Media Association (SEMA), McCombs Admissions Committee , Graduate Adventure team, and MBA Soccer club. Julie attended last year’s Women’s Forum and loved it! She is hoping to make this year’s event even better than last years. Julie majored in Finance at Penn State University while also minoring in Spanish, International Business, and Economics. Following her undergraduate studies, Julie moved to Pittsburgh, PA where she worked in management consulting for three years for Deloitte Consulting. Post-MBA, Julie plans to return to Consulting and work for either media or hospitality clients.

Kate Stark, MBA 2012

KateKate Stark is a second year student in the Texas MBA program focusing in Marketing and Social Enterprise.  She is a member of Graduate Women in Business, SEMA (Sports, Entertainment and Media Association), Graduate Marketing Network, Net Impact and the McCombs Admissions Committee. Kate also hosted last fall’s Texas MBA Women’s Forum. Kate studied Mass Media Communications at New York University and obtained her BS in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas.  Following her undergraduate work, she lived in Los Angeles where she worked in feature film development, finance and marketing, particularly in foreign sales of distribution rights. Prior to coming to McCombs, Kate spent several months in Tanzania teaching small business skills to women in a village near Kilimanjaro.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation will be provided (via shuttle) to each of the major events, but you may need to rent a car if you plan on exploring Austin on your own.

HOTEL


The Texas MBA program has arranged for attendees of the Women’s Forum to stay at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center on November 10 and 11.  We will be covering your lodging expenses for these two nights, and you will be paired with a roommate.  Any incidental expenses (room service, parking, phone/internet/TV) will be at your own expense.  The AT&T Center is located directly on the University of Texas campus and is about a 5 – 10 minute walk from the business school.  More information about the hotel can be found at www.meetattexas.com.
