MPA Council Logo

Who We Are

Traditional, Integrated and Econ-MPAs come together to network and create a sense of community within the MPA program. As a group we hope to instill a sense of unity and support for all MPA students. Through social events and community outreach we strive to not only be better students but create values and practices we can carry with us throughout our careers.

Mission

The mission of the MPA Council is to unite and build camaraderie between all MPA students through academic achievement, professional development, service to the community, and social engagement while upholding the environment, values, and integrity of the MPA Program, the most highly regarded accounting program in the nation.

Purpose

The purpose of the MPAC is to build a spirit of community and service among Master in Professional Accounting (MPA) students.

Membership

To be eligible for membership, students must be enrolled in the MPA program and actively take courses toward the MPA degree. Membership dues will be at the discretion of the Executive Board. The decision will take into account the financial state of MPAC.

Our Foundation

Academic Achievement & Professional Development

Texas MPA students seek excellence both in the classroom and in the workplace. Academic Achievement entails devotion to studying, research, and discipline, knowing that skills and habits learned at the University of Texas will be carried over post-graduation. Professional Development encompasses both nuance and ethics. Successful professionals have great interpersonal skills, panache and ambition. Successful professionals also maintain their integrity and do not allow their desires to overcome their ethics.

Service to the Community MPAC Bastrop Volunteers

Texas MPA students are leaders in the McCombs School of Business and the University of Texas, and they will continue to be leaders in the professional sphere. Because of this, it is imperative that MPA students be proactive, set the example, and take the lead in giving back to the community. By utilizing our roles as leaders and taking the initiative, we strive to help others by the giving back with our time and talents.

Recent service include: Bastrop fire, LiveSTRONG, Special Olympics, Toys for Tots.

Social Engagement

The Texas MPA Program is vigorous, and as students progress through it, bonds are made and relationships are formed. As students strive for academic achievement, professional development, and service opportunities, an anticipated outcome is a vibrant community among MPA students. The camaraderie that is formed through these experiences contributes to student life and will enhance the professional world after graduation. Scavenger Hunt at the CapitalScavenger Hunt Celebration
