The Texas Master of Science in Finance (MSF) Program at the McCombs School of Business provides a unique opportunity for students to receive graduate-level training to prepare for careers in finance, especially those requiring analytic rigor and quantitative skills. The program is explicitly designed for students from a wide variety of backgrounds, including liberal arts, natural sciences, engineering and business. No previous work experience is required, and the program can be completed in less than a calendar year.

The Texas MSF Program affords students the opportunity to work with, and learn from, our world-class faculty. The McCombs School of Business faculty is renowned for its instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In 2011, The Princeton Review's annual guide to business schools rated the school number one out of 294 in the "Best Professors" category. The University of Texas at Austin's Finance Department consistently ranks among the top finance departments in the world, including its recent number six ranking among all finance departments in the 2011 U.S. News & World Report survey of Undergraduate Business Schools. The Chronicle of Higher Education's Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index also ranked the McCombs faculty number three for its research.
Students in the MSF Program also benefit from the wealth of activities in The University of Texas at Austin's Department of Finance’s Centers of Excellence, which includes the Real Estate Finance and Investment Center, the Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Center for Private Equity Finance, the EDS Financial Trading & Technology Center and the Center for Energy Finance Education and Research.
