Please follow the steps below in order to apply to the Texas MSTC Program:
1. Submit the online Texas MSTC application
Within the online application you will also submit:
- Essays
- Biographical sketch
- A scanned copy of your official transcript
- A resume
- Two letters of recommendation
- A 2x2 high-resolution photo
2. Pay application fee
An email will be sent prompting you to pay the application fee within two business days after the online application is submitted. This amount will be invoiced through "What I Owe" and may or may not be invoiced at the same time as the application.
- The Graduate, U.S. application fee is $65.
- The Graduate, International application fee is $90.
- An additional $10 fee will be assessed for applicants who have previously attended The University of Texas at Austin to cover the cost of the transcript.
- Please visit the “Paying your fee” section on the GIAC website: www.utexas.edu/ogs/admissions/howtous.html, for information on how to pay.
- Applications will not be processed until the fee is paid.
3. Submit official transcripts
Official transcripts must be sent to the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC). You must upload one copy of the official academic transcript from every senior college you have attended. Transcripts are not required from junior colleges and community colleges. Please visit the “Submit transcripts to GIAC” section on the GIAC website for information. Once admitted into the MSTC Program, you will be asked to present the original transcripts to GIAC.
Please Note: This submission is separate from the scanned copy provided on the application. GIAC requires an official submission through their website.
4. Submit official GRE or GMAT Score
Official GMAT/GRE Scores must be sent to the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC).
Applicants are required to submit GRE or GMAT test scores as part of their application. Official scores must be sent electronically to the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) directly from the testing agency. Test scores should not be older than five years.

5. International students: submit official TOEFL or IELTS score
International applicants must take either the TOEFL or the Academic Examination of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and submit test scores to GIAC.

6. Status check
All applications to the Texas MSTC Program undergo a two-part process. The Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) handles the processing of your transcripts, test scores and visa/permanent residence information (if applicable), and the Texas MSTC Admissions Committee conducts the application review and administers a decision.
MSTC Application Status Check: Please remember to monitor the progress of your submitted Texas MSTC application through the application status at https://mccombs-utexas-admissions.symplicity.com/? .
GIAC Status Check: Monitor the receipt of your official transcripts and official test scores and the copy of your Green Card by checking the University of Texas status page at https://utdirect.utexas.edu/admissions/status_check.WBX.
Use your UT EID and password to check whether these items have been received by the GIAC. If any of these items show as outstanding or not received, your application decision will be delayed. The GIAC status check should be used exclusively for these three items. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all required credentials are received. All other components of your application and final decision should be monitored at the McCombs Status Check.
