Fellowships & Grants
There are a number of websites which provide other fellowship and grant information:
Texas State Veteran Benefits
If you are a veteran, first let us say thank you for your service. Visit the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website at http://www.gibill.va.gov to learn more and determine your eligibility under the new bill. The MSTC Program office will then work with you to ensure you are getting the proper assistance under this new policy.
Since the MSTC Program does not receive state funding, Hazelwood Act benefits do not apply, however students may be eligible for the Texas MSTC Military Waiver in place of the Hazelwood Act. Beginning in May, 2012, the MSTC Military Waiver will not cover the cost of books. Students CANNOT receive the Military Waiver AND the GI Bill.
The Post-911 GI Bill will only cover the tuition. Fees for housing, food, books, etc. are not included. The amount is based off of a percent of eligibility of service.
Veterans may choose to use their GI Bill for tuition purposes. Visit the Registrar's Office, Veteran's Service Website for more information or contact their office at (512) 475-7540 for details.
George Kozmetsky Memorial Scholarship
The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin has created the George Kozmetsky Memorial Scholarship specifically for full-time University of Texas employees who are admitted to its MSTC program. Beginning with the entering class of 2012, admitted UT employees may apply for a $10,000 tuition stipend for the one-year MSTC program. Up to two George Kozmetsky Memorial Scholarship awards will be made by the Executive Committee each program year.
To be considered for the George Kozmetsky Memorial Scholarship, admitted UT employees should send a letter to the program director stating (1) how the University of Texas’ technology commercialization initiatives would benefit by their earning the MSTC degree, and (2) how they can contribute to strengthening institutional relationships between their organization or unit and the McCombs School of Business.
The scholarship application deadline is February 15.
