Page 1 / Page 2
To operate the media equipment:
1. On the far left side of the control panel is the projectors' on and off buttons. Turn the projector on and wait a few minutes for it to warm up. When the projector is on it defaults to the PC input. If the projector is turned off and you need it back on press the "Projector on" button. The button will flash and the projector won't turn on until it has cooled down enough, which is about a minute.
2. The second pair of buttons from the left are the PC and Video input buttons. You can switch it to video if you're using the VHS deck by pressing the video button under the PC button.
3. The third pair of buttons from the left are for the screen. Press it once and the screen will go down or up all the way. If you press it again while its moving then the screen will stop.
4. To the right of that are four buttons that control the lights. Keep the lights on high if your not using the projector, Medium or low when you need to use the projector but still have light in the room. Low is best suited for that. Or you can turn the lights completely off.
5. The pair of buttons on the far right are spotlights. The top one is for the desk and the bottom is for the whiteboard.
6. To the right of the spotlight buttons is the microphone input control. This controls the signal level coming from the microphone. The microphone does not go into the computer, it is system broadcast (room speakers) only.
7. On the far right is the Main volume control. This controls the volume for everything.
8. Below the Volume control is the network interrupt button. This button takes every computer in the room off the network. When the button is pressed it will start blinking faster and faster. If the button is pressed again before it reaches the steady on state it will turn off and the computer will stay on the network. If it is not pressed again the computers will go off the network when the blinking light reaches a steady "on" state.
9. The key lock on the control panel is to run both classrooms simultaneously from one desk. The key switch is on the desk in room 5.304 only. Scheduling both rooms for larger classes is done through the lab supervisor. For reservation of this lab e-mail to Lab Reservations.
