Diversity within MBA programs is not the work of just organizations like the Black Graduate Business Association, but the work of several different partners, corporations and organizations. These groups provide professional guidance and mentorship, pre-MBA training, and industry exposure. Together, these entities strive to not only increase the number of African-Americans matriculating into top business programs like McCombs, but also to incubate ample opportunities beyond business school. BGBA members have been associated with several excellent programs aimed at ensuring the success of their participants. Diversity means more than just African-American. In this spirit, BGBA is one of many organizations at McCombs which stands to create an environment where students can increase their knowledge, exposure, and interaction with different kinds of people. These organizations add to the fabric of the McCombs MBA experience, as well as prepare BGBA members for the global work environment. Groups such as the Latin American and Hispanic MBA Association (LAHMBA) and the Indian Graduate Business Association serve as platforms upon which every McCombs student can find familiarity or learn something new. McCombs thrives on its diversity and collegiality, and BGBA encourages all of its members to adopt that same platform within their personal and professional experiences.
