My trip to Morocco will always carry sentimental value. It was the biggest culture shock I have ever experienced in my life. I think the fact that myself and 13 of my exchange student friends were able to spend the night in The Sahara Desert with a local Berber family really enhanced our time there. Lesson learned: Riding a camel is much more painful than what I thought, so next time I'll be sure to dress comfortably.

I cannot put into words how amazing my experience in Chile was. My favorite place in South America was an island in the south called Chiloé - a mystical place where native traditions and Chilean culture clash and mix, resulting in an incredibly beautiful lifestyle. Kayaking on the Rio Chepu was one of my favorite experiences. Floating with the current is one of those relaxing moments that I've come to associate with Chile, moments that I'll always savor and crave. My time in Chile flew by way too quickly, but I know I'll find a way back there one day.

"Paris is a city of love, and I saw it everywhere. It was in the fragrance of coffee and on the bridges along the Seine. Paris is an escape from reality where troubles are forgotten and happiness is everywhere."

I went to Innsbruck, Austria on a whim. That ended up being one of my favorite things about studying abroad -- discovering the unexpected beauty of the things that went unplanned. I'm so grateful to have gone to the places I visited, to have made so many new friends, and to have learned things I never realized about myself and the world we live in.

I knew for quite awhile that I wanted to study abroad, but the whole experience was more than I could ever imagine. Europe and the UK have so many different, rich cultures in such a small geographical area. I think I learned more in an 18-day backpacking trip than I had in the previous three years. I don't mean academic learning, but trying to answer the existential, personal, philosophical questions that give life purpose. Living in a house with 6 people from other nationalities helped me realize there is no better way to give your life perspective than to study abroad and build global friendships.

The final stop on my study abroad adventure was London. It had been a lifelong dream of mine to visit this city, and it was everything I thought it would be. Paris may have Versailles, but Hampton Court truly took my breath away.

"My semester abroad in Sydney, Australia was the most unforgettable time of my life. I went on some incredible adventures around Australia and New Zealand, saw the most beautiful sites in the world, and met some lifelong best friends. I came back a more cultured, more adventurous person."

"A trip to Budapest led to a river tour on the Danube. It was so breathtaking at night, when all of its buildings are lit up in gold. This is the Hungarian Parliament Building, my absolute favorite. Aside from its amazing riverside, Budapest was full of great food, huge spas, and friendly locals!"

I traveled everywhere during my exchange, but sometimes the best photo opportunities were right there in Milan. Here a flash mob literally packed the entire square dancing to Psy's "Gangnam Style."

One of my best semesters in college was last fall in Norway. There was breathtaking scenery from my residence village to everywhere and anywhere. I experienced four seasons in only five months, plus lots of outdoor activities, friends from so many countries, good food, and amazing places to visit.

The time I spent in Chile will forever be engrained into my memory. The sheer beauty of Machu Picchu surpasses anything I'd ever seen before. I love this picture because it embodies the beauty and serenity that this wonder of the world has to offer. But I especially love it because this burnt orange llama, whom I'll name "Levo" was munching away on his grass while humming the Eyes of Texas.

Studying abroad was, hands down, the coolest experience of my life so far. Totally immersing yourself in another culture for an extended period of time really does change your view of the world. I quickly came to realize how sheltered and unaware many Americans are. The photo above is a shot of the ancient Roman baths for which the city is named.

"In Denmark I lived on the same block as royalty. They may be royalty, but they're still subject to the frigid, sunless Danish winter season just like the rest of us. Captured here are the palaces of Amalienborg during the birth of a snowstorm. Barely peeking through the constant, dense clouds is the sun, providing just enough warmth and hope to make the snow beautiful and bearable."

Hiking in the wrong direction and ending up in France, singing Disney songs on the trail, drinking the best tap water in the world, Nutella and bread for every meal, staying up late taking personality tests, attempting a hike at 5 a.m. in the pitch dark, and seeing the most beautiful view of the Swiss Alps all in one weekend = the life of an exchange student ♥

My travels while studying abroad took me to a variety of places. One of my favorite trips was to Dublin, Ireland. Dublin has a fun and young vibe and there is never a dull moment. While I was there, I ventured to the amazing (and windy) Cliffs of Moher. The day trip up to the cliffs included a hilarious tour guide, new friends, good food, and a breathtaking view! Can't wait till my adventures take me back!

The Kawarua Bridge in Queenstown, New Zealand was one of the many amazing things I got to see while studying abroad in Australia. Though I did the Nevis bungy jump instead, I would have loved to do this one, too, since you get to jump into the ridiculously clear blue water.

I took a spontaneous 3 hour train ride to Venice with a friend one day. We timed it perfectly so that we could be in the gondola right at sunset (trying to be romantic of course!). It turns out we were on there for less than 2 minutes because we rode a traghetto - a boat that just takes you across the river instead of a gondola that takes you down the river. This was the only picture I was able to take while on it - the most memorable 2 minutes of my time there. I don't regret it at all, but Venice: I'll be back...this time for the right thing. ;)

One weekend in October, my friends and I were looking for a spontaneous trip. We heard that Croatia was an interesting place that not many have heard of. We loved the capital city and the friendly people, but what we found just an hour away from us was an unforgettable national park. We spent a day hiking through waterfalls around lakes and ended the day with zip-lining.
