Holly Goodrich McMullan, MBA ’04, Honored at Annual Awards Celebration
Students, faculty and alumni gathered Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center for the fourth Annual MBA Alumni Awards Celebration. Associate Dean for Graduate Programs Eric Hirst presented the Rising Star Award to Holly Goodrich McMullan, MBA ’04. This award recognizes an alumnus or alumna who has graduated within the past 10 years, demonstrated distinguished professional success and worked to strengthen the McCombs MBA Alumni Network.
“Holly is a true advocate of the McCombs MBA program. As a loyal McCombs graduate, Holly’s Rising Star status reflects well on the McCombs School, and we are proud to call her one of our own,” Hirst said at the ceremony.
McMullan’s career has progressed significantly since she graduated. She is currently a principal with Apollo Management in New York, and she previously served as senior vice president with Pequot Capital Management and vice president with Guggenheim Partners.
“Holly’s continued work with the annual Hedge Fund Symposium—currently in its sixth year—and the MBA Hedge Fund Organization, which she founded as a student, helps to ensure its continued success and brings nationwide attention to the school,” said Senior Finance Lecturer Michael Brandl, who served as the initial faculty advisor to the MBA Hedge Fund Organization.
McMullan also served as president of the New York MBA Alumni Network Chapter, where she worked to increase McCombs’ presence in the New York financial community. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Central Park Longhorns Foundation in New York City, which works to send tri-state-area high school students to the university. She is the co-author of “Vault Career Guide to Hedge Funds” (Vault Career Library, 2005) and has been interviewed by hedgeworld.com, CNBC, the Wall Street Journal and Forbes.
This is the fourth year that the McCombs MBA Alumni Network has recognized the success of graduates through this signature event. The Alumni Relations Office would like to thank the following alumni and students for helping make this event a tremendous success.
