The MBA Class of 1996 started the Leave a Legacy campaign as a way of giving back to future classes. Since then, this tradition has raised more than $1.2 million for excellence at the McCombs School, including the construction of group meeting rooms (MBA Class of 1998), the 21st Street plaza renovation (MBA Classes of 2002 and 2003), the new Legacy Events Room (MBA Class of 2004), and the outdoor study area (MBA Class of 2007).
We are proud to announce that 99% of the class of 2009 participated in their legacy campaign this year. Funds raised will go toward the renovation of the Carpenter Center.
The MBA Legacy program expanded in 2006 to include Reunion Legacy, a giving campaign for classes celebrating their reunion year. Alumni are important to the success of the current students at McCombs and a great reminder of the results of hard work. By making a Reunion Legacy gift, we continue a proud tradition of Texas-sized generosity to the MBA program that helped lay the foundation for our own success.
Our peer schools raise millions each year through their reunion class giving programs. Our goal is to raise money for the MBA Alumni Endowed Excellence Fund.
The MBA Alumni Endowed Excellence Fund (MAEEF) was established by the McCombs MBA Alumni (MMA) Network in August 2005. This innovative excellence fund – created by MBA’s for MBA’s – provides flexible funding resources to strengthen existing full-time programs and launch initiatives that enhance the educational experience of full-time Texas MBA students.
This fund is unique in that a committee of 2 MBA alumni, 2 current students, and 2 school representatives determine annually how the awards are allocated and is the only award with direct alumni input. This exceptional committee-based process promotes significant involvement and collaboration between two of the school’s most valuable assets: MBA students and MBA alumni.
Past MAEEF funds were awarded to:
The MAEEF is off to a great start! The ultimate goal is to grow the MBA Alumni Endowed Excellence Fund to $1 million to ensure ongoing support for MBA student initiatives and to foster the legacy of the Texas MBA degree.
